SLAF initiates renewable energy program at Katunayake Base
August 26, 2022Sri Lanka Air Force (SLAF) installed a 5kW Solar Power System at SLAF Base Katunayake and officially commissioned the first phase of the renewable energy program recently.
The renewable energy program has been initiated under the directives of the SLAF Commander Air Marshal Sudarshana Pathirana to find in-house solutions to the prevailing energy crisis, the SLAF sources said.
The system has been commissioned keeping provisions for further improvements to meet future power demands, the SLAF added.
Senior officers including the Commander SLAF Base Katunayake, Air Commodore Lasitha Sumanaweera were present at the occasion.
