KDU signs MOU with Japan’s J.F. Oberlin University and Thailand’s AIT
August 31, 2022A Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) has been signed between General Sir John Kotelawala Defence University (KDU) and J. F. Oberlin University in Tokyo, Japan for academic cooperation, yesterday (Aug 30).
According to the KDU, the objective of the signing of this MOU is basically to provide a general framework for cooperation between two Universities. It is expected to participate in student exchange programmes, joint research projects, and exchange educational and academic materials.
The MOU was a result of the close collaboration of Dr. Hemantha Premarathna of the Faculty of Management, Social Sciences and Humanities with the academics of Oberlin University.
Further, a KDU delegation will arrive in Oberlin University in September this year, the KDU sources said.
After the signing of the MOU, the KDU Vice Chancellor Maj. Gen. Milinda Peiris emphasized the importance of implementing this initiative to the fullest and maintaining a firm collaboration.
Further, the KDU renewed its MOU with the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT), Thailand which was initially signed in 2015, in order to strengthen the partnership between two Universities.
