Warning on minor flood in areas of Kuda Ganga valley
September 01, 2022The Irrigation Department issuing a flood warning message informs the public about the possibility of occurring a minor flood situation in low line areas of Kuda Ganga valley situated in Palinda Nuwara and Bulathsinhala Divisional Secretariats.
A considerable rainfall has been recorded in upstream catchment areas of Kuda Ganga Sub Basin of Kalu River as of yesterday evening (Aug 31).
By analyzing the current rainfall situation and river water levels of Hydrological Stations in Kuda Ganga, the residents in those areas and vehicle drivers running through those areas are requested to pay high attention in this regard, the message stated.
The Irrigation Department also requests Disaster Management Authorities to take adequate precautions.
