Maldivian Defence Advisor pays courtesy call on Sri Lanka Defence Secretary
September 02, 2022Maldivian Defence Advisor at the High Commission of the Republic of Maldives in Colombo, Colonel Ismail Naseer who will be completing his tenure in due course and the Defence Advisor designate, Lieutenant Colonel Hassan Amir paid a courtesy call on the Sri Lankan Defence Secretary Gen. Kamal Gunaratne at the Defence Ministry at Sri Jayewardenepura, Kotte today (Sept 02).
Gen. Gunaratne warmly received the Defence Advisors on the arrival to the Defence Ministry.
During the cordial meeting held between the two high officials, the Defence Advisor expressed his gratitude to the Defence Secretary for the cooperation extended by the Defence Ministry during his tenure.
Meanwhile, Gen. Gunaratne praised the outgoing Defence Advisor for his cooperation extended to the Sri Lankan Defence Ministry while also commending for his assistance that led to further strengthening the existing ties between two countries. The Defence Secretary also extended compliments to the Defence Advisor Designate.
Mementoes were exchanged between the Defence Secretary and the outgoing Defence Advisor to mark the occasion.
Military Liaison Officer of the Defence Ministry Maj. Gen. Dinesh Nanayakkara was also present at the occasion.
