SLN supports spectacle donation for visually impaired in Pulmoddai
September 13, 2022Over 125 visually impaired persons living in Pulmoddai received spectacles following a spectacle donation campaign organized by the Sri Lanka Navy (SLN) at the Pulmoddai Base Hospital, recently.
Under the Naval Social Responsibility initiative the SLN extended their supportive hands for this noble project which was sponsored by a private donor, following the directives of Navy Commander Vice Admiral Nishantha Ulugetenne.
The Medical Staff of the Eastern Naval Command, nearby naval establishments and the Pulmoddai Base Hospital staff joined hands for the distribution of spectacles.
Staff of both the Eastern Naval Command and Pulmoddai Base Hospital conducted an awareness programme including a primary care clinic for the attending citizens where the importance of a healthy lifestyle was communicated during the session.
The programme was conducted under the supervision of Eastern Naval Commander Rear Admiral Jayantha Kularatne.
