SLN organized beach cleaning drives
September 19, 2022Sri Lanka Navy coinciding with the International Coastal Cleanup Day and Marine Resources Conservation Week conducted several beach cleanup drives in beach areas covering all naval commands on 17 September.
Accordingly, the Western Naval Command in Galle Face and Crow Island Beaches, Eastern Naval Command in Back Bay Beach, Trincomalee, North Central Naval Command in Urumalai Beach, Northwestern Naval Command in Kallaru, Anawasala, Gangewadiya and Karukapane Beaches, Southeastern Naval Command in Arugambay Beach, Northern Naval Command in Madagal, Pungudutivu and Delft Beaches and Southern Naval Command in Rekawa Beach conducted these beach cleanup programmes, the SLN sources said.
