KDU setups new ‘Consultancy Services Unit’
September 27, 2022The General Sir John Kotelawala Defence University (KDU) has setup a Consultancy Services Unit (KDU-CONSU) with a dedicated website recently under the headship of Senior Prof. Swarna Piyasiri recently.
KDU sources highlight that participation in projects of national importance, participation in international projects and to serve the industrial sector as the key objectives of this initiative and said it will open avenues for KDU professionals to formally collaborate with others serving the country those specialized in respective fields, following the approval of the KDU Board of Management.
The mission of this is to provide capacity and necessary strength to support national and international projects as well as the industrial sector of the nation by utilizing KDU specialists those in a variety of disciplines.
KDU Vice-Chancellor Maj. Gen. Milinda Peiris graced the ceremony to establish this new unit as the Chief Guest and also launched its website.
Senior Prof. Piyasiri briefed about the KDU CONSU and its responsibilities including its activities during the session. The Vice-Chancellor also discussed the expected contribution of this unit and its importance to the KDU and the country as a whole, during his address.
KDU CONSU also expects to register with international consulting agencies in order to involve in international projects, the KDU added.
