Defence top brass pays courtesy calls on Acting Defence Minister

Navy and Air Force Commanders and the Director General of Sri Lanka Coast Guard (SLCG) paid courtesy calls on the Acting Defence Minister Hon. Premitha Bandara Tennakoon at the State Ministry of Defence situated at the Disaster Management Centre (DMC) premises in Colombo today (Sep 28).

Accordingly, Navy Commander Vice Admiral Nishantha Ulugetenne, Air Force Commander Air Marshal Sudarshana Pathirana and the SLCG Director General Rear Admiral Anura Ekanayake met the Acting Defence Minister Tennakoon on separate occasions.

Following a warm welcome to the visiting defence top brass, State Minister Tennakoon had cordial discussions with them at his office this afternoon. Dialogue on areas of mutual interest was also included the in the meetings.

Navy and Air Force Commanders and the SLCG Director General extended their warm wishes to the Minister on assuming office as the State Minister of Defence, recently.

State Minister Tennakoon was appointed as the Acting Minister of Defence for the period of the official overseas visit by Hon. President Ranil Wickremesinghe.

Mementoes were presented to the State Minister by the visiting defence chiefs as tokens of appreciation and to mark their visits during their respective meetings with him.
