KDU Powerlifters emerge overall champions
August 28, 2019Making their presence felt in the local powerlifting arena, the Powerlifting Team of the General Sir John Kotelawala Defence University emerged as the overall men’s champions in the “All Island Shakthi Open Powerlifting Competition -2019”, states KDU media. The competition was held on 11th &12th August at the Maithri Hall in Bandaragama.
The competition, organized by Shakthi Sports Club, Wadduwa and conducted by the Sri Lanka Powerlifting Federation was attended by over 150 contestants.
The Men’s events were held under 59 kg, 66 kg, 74 kg, 83 kg, 93 kg, 105 kg, 120 kg and above 120 kg weight categories. The KDU team secured two Gold, 1 Silver and 2 Bronze medals to secure the overall men’s championship title.
