Army distributes school accessories to Vishwamadu and Mannar students
October 27, 2022Sri Lanka Army (SLA) distributed free dry ration packs and school accessories among the needy civilians in Vishwamadu, Kilinochchi recently.
Mr Ninedra Bandara, Chairman, 'Nithmira' Apparels provided the financial contribution to the donation of 20 dry ration packs for civilians and packets of school accessories for 115 students in affected families, the SLA stated.
Commander, Security Forces-Mullaitivu Maj. Gen. Sanjaya Wanasinghe, Officers and Other Ranks attended the programme organized by the 6 Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment troops at the Vishwamadu Maha Vidyalaya premises.
Meanwhile, low-income group school children of several Government Tamil Mixed Schools in the Mannar district recently received school accessories arranged with the sponsorship of 541 Brigade Commander Brig. Dasantha Munasinghe, the Army sources confirmed.
The project benefitted over 100 deserving students at Illuppakadawai Government's Tamil Mixed School, Anthonipuram Government's Tamil Mixed School, Mundampiddy Government's Tamil Mixed School, Koorai Government's Tamil Mixed School, Kalliady Government's Tamil Mixed School, Kovilkulam Government's Tamil Mixed School, Aligar Muslim Vidyalaya and Joseph Vass Maha Vidyalaya.
