Army-grown paddy using organic fertilizer harvested
October 27, 2022Sri Lanka Army (SLA) troops of 3 Sri Lanka Army Ordnance Corps (SLAOC) recently reaped the paddy harvest, grown using organic fertilizer at Hingurakgoda.
3 Sri Lanka Army Ordnance Corps (SLAOC) troops of Forward Maintenance Area (East) turned the marshy land of about five acres inside the camp into paddy land and cultivated it four months ago in consultation with the Directorate of Agriculture and Livestock at the Army HQ, the SLA sources stated.
Commanding Officer of 3 SLAOC Maj. W.D.P.K Withana, Officers and Other Ranks attended the harvesting ceremony.
