SLN clears debris clogged in Gin Ganga
October 31, 2022Sri Lanka Navy (SLN) cleared debris clogged under the Agaliya, Wakwella and Dodangoda bridges of Gin Ganga in a bid to preserve the free water flow recently.
The normal water flow has carried much debris which has got stuck under bridges preventing gravity flow and posing a flood threat to the surrounding low lying areas.
Initiating prompt measures, the SLN cleared two blockades by deploying their diver teams and Rapid Action Boat Squadron personnel serving under the Southern Naval Command.
The SLN constantly clears blocks under the Wakwella, Agaliya and Dodangoda narrow Bridges over the Gin Ganga, which flows into the ocean at Gintota.
