SL troops in Mali awarded 'Excellence' Badge for
'Adventurous Operations'

Sri Lanka Army troops serving the Sri Lankan Combat Convoy Company (CCC), deployed under the United Nations (UN) Multidimensional Integrated Stabilization Mission in Mali (MINUSMA) were recently awarded 'Excellence in MINUSMA Sector East' Badge in recognition of Sri Lankan soldiers' 'adventurous operations with excellence'.
MINUSMA General Officer Commanding of Sector Eastern Headquarters Brigadier General Stefan Andersson pinned the 'Excellence in MINUSMA Sector East' Badge on all convoy members and commended their service, the Army sources stated .
Tribal terrorist groups in Mali have intensified their violent acts targeting their rivals as well as UN troops they posed a formidable threat to all UN troops, deployed for UN peace-keeping assignments, the Army also stated.
