Air Force contingent in MINUSCA conducts civil welfare programmes
September 02, 2019The Sri Lanka Air Force Aviation Contingent in the United Nations Multidimensional Integrated Stabilization Mission in the Central African Republic (MINUSCA) had carried out several major Civil-Military Co-operation activities and drug donation programmes, during last month. According to Air Force media, these programmes had been conducted with a view to support the locals and the children who are victims of the conflict in villages situated around Bria, Central African Republic.
This initiative by the 4th SLAF Aviation Contingent in MINUSCA had benefited more than 1000 children. Clothes, toys and footballs were gifted to the children and stationery items, donated by the members of the Contingent were also distributed among the children. They had also offered one-day worth of rations to prepare more than 2000 food packs distributed among the local people during these programmes.
The drug donation programmes were also conducted in parallel to the CIMIC activities in local Hospital in Bria.
