153rd Police Day celebrated
September 04, 2019The Sri Lanka Police celebrated its 153rd ‘Police Day’, on 03rd September (2019). According to Police media, a ceremony was held in this regard at the Police Grounds in Bambalapitiya, yesterday. Acting IG CD Wickramaratne graced the ceremony held in keeping with time held customs of the Police.
The present Sri Lanka Police was formed on 03rd September 1866.
Meanwhile, the Police Cricket team became the champions at the International Police Cricket Championships held in England, recently. The Police team won the title beating the Western Australia Police team. The tournament was conducted by the Worcester Police Cricket Club from 12th to 16, August.
