Footwear for deserving students in Mullaitivu
September 07, 2019A large group of students from backward families in Mullaitivu was benefited by a Sri Lanka Army coordinated programme to donate footwear, recently. Army media states that 147 students in Karupaddamurippu in Oddusudan area were gifted with school shoes during a ceremony held at Karupaddamurippu Vidyalayam on Wednesday (04).
These deserving students were thus benefitted by the Army's community welfare initiative, thanks to the benevolance of a private donor who had sponsored the gifts upon a request by Army authorities.
Major General W.D.C.K Costa, General Officer Commanding, 64 Division together with 643 Brigade Commander and Commanding officer of the 13 Sri Lanka National Guard were associated with the event.
