Bangladesh Navy ship in Colombo
September 08, 2019Making a four day goodwill visit, the Blangladesh Navy ship 'Somudra Avijan' arrived in Colombo on Saturday (07 September).
The visiting Bangladeshi ship was accorded a traditional naval welcome by the Sri Lanka Navy upon its arrival at the Colombo harbour, states Navy media.
'Somudra Avijan' is 115.2m long and 13.1m wide and has a displacement capacity of 3367.58 tons.
During the visit, the ship’s crew is expected to take part in a number of programmes including visits to places of interests organized by the Sri Lanka Navy.
A training rehearsal of landing a Bangladesh Navy helicopter onboard a Sri Lanka Navy ship (Passage Exercise) has also been scheduled to be carried out.
The ship is scheduled to leave the island on Tuesday (10 September).
