September 16, 2019Members of the National Organization for the Protection of Rights of War Heroes who are staging a protest apposite the Fort Railway Station in Colombo and a group of Members of the Maha Sangha led by Ven. Athuraliye Ratana met the Secretary to the Ministry of Defence General (Retd) Shantha Kottegoda, WWV RWP RSP VSV USP ndc, at the Ministry for a discussion, today (16 September).
During the discussion the Secretary Defence said that, the final Subcommittee Report on the salaries and allowances paid to members of the Tri Forces and Police, disabled or died during the war till the age of 55, to be paid to the dependents of the deceased personnel for life time and continued to be paid to the disable personnel for life, would be hand over to the Cabinet Office today to be tabled at the Cabinet Meeting tomorrow.
