Sri Lankan ships return after ‘SLINEX 2019’
September 16, 2019The two Sri Lanka Navy ships which left home shores to take part at the Sri Lanka - India Naval Exercise-2019, (SLINEX -2019) returned to the country during the weekend.
The two ships, SLNS ‘Sindurala’ and SLNS ‘Suranimila’ left for India on the 5th (September) to take part in the Exercise.
‘Sindurala’, arrived at the Naval Dockyard Trincomalee on Saturday (14) while ‘Suranimila’ arrived at the Colombo Port on Sunday (15). Both ships were accorded a traditional naval welcome upon their arrival at the two ports by the SL Navy.
The training exercise was conducted at Vishakhapatnam in India from 7th to 12th (September). Indian naval ships INS ‘Kukri’ and INS ‘Sumedha’ joined the two Sri Lankan ships at the Exercise.
The Exercise had consisted of shore and sea activities including activities related to fleet work, navigation, communication, replenishment at sea and helicopter landing were rehearsed during the training exercise.
