Tri Forces, Police and CSD musical bands felicitated
September 23, 2019A felicitation ceremony was held at the Ministry Auditorium to appreciate and acknowledge the services of the Tri Forces, Police and Civil Defence Department (CSD) bands, musical and cultural troupes at the recently held ‘Udarai Oba’ musical extravaganza.
The Chairperson of the MoD Seva Vanitha Unit, Mrs. Sonia Kottegoda graced the ceremony, held this morning (23rd September).
During the ceremony, Mrs. Kottegoda expressed her gratitude and thanked those present on behalf of the SVU and also presented gifts to all members of the bands as a token of appreciation.
SVU officials, and Senior Tri Forces, Police and CSD officers were also present at the occasion.
The ‘Udarai Oba’ musical programme was conducted at the Nelum Pokuna theater on the 14th (September) to raise for the establishment of a Vocational Training Centre (VTC) for Tri Forces, Police and Civil Security Department personnel and their family members.
The event was graced by the President, Maithripala Sirisena as the chief guest.
A posse of acclaimed veteran and young artists together with the Tri Forces, Police and CSD musical bands enthralled the crowds with their renditions of popular songs at the musical show.
