Exercise ‘Cormorant Strike X- 2019’ concludes

'Cormorant Strike X - 2019’, the annual Field Training Exercise organized by the Sri Lanka Army saw its culmination with the ‘Critical Engagement’ being staged at Kuchchaveli in Trincomalee, on Monday (23rd September).

Chief of Defence Staff, Admiral Ravindra C Wijegunaratne graced the occasion, last evening.

The three-week long combined exercise commenced on 03rd (September) with the participation of a combined Tri Forces participation of 2400 Army, 400 Navy and 200 Air Force personnel and over 80 foreign military representatives and observers from ten countries.

A number of mock operations were conducted in several parts of the country including Trincomalee, Kandy, Pulmoddai, Nilaveli, Colombo, Sigiriya, Gomarankadawala, Wadumunei, Mannar, Balapitiya, and Nuwaraeliya.

The final operation showed how a simulated multi-pronged joint amphibious attack could be performed with precision on enemy hideouts in a setting, considered hostile and challenging.

Tri Forces Commanders, senior Tri Forces officers and a large number of officers and other rank personnel were also present to witness the final crack down operation.
