Representatives of disabled War Hero Organizations meet Additional Secretary (Defence) of the Ministry of Defence
September 25, 2019A group of representatives of the All Island War Heroes and Disabled War Heroes Association met the Additional Secretary (Defence) of the Ministry of Defence, Mr. Anuradha Wijekoon, at the Ministry Auditorium, today (25).
During the discussion, the Additional Secretary (Defense) gave a detailed description of the contents of the Cabinet approved Cabinet Paper regarding their pension issues. He also said that approval has been granted effective from 24th September (2019).
Chairman of the All Island War Heroes and disabled War Heroes Association, Anura Weligama, expressed gratitude for the contribution of the Ministry of Defence to resolve their pension issues and also requested that attention be paid to certain issued in addition to the contents of the approved Cabinet Paper.
In response, the Additional Secretary said that attention would be paid on those issues as well.
Military Spokesperson and Director of the Media Center, Major General Sumith Atapattu, Military Liaison Officer, Brigadier TJ Kodithuwakku, senior officers of the Pension branches of the Tri Forces and Police were also present at the occasion.
