Leadership training programmes for newly recruited graduate teachers
September 28, 2019A series of five-day training programmes on 'Leadership, Positive Approaches and Attirudes' for newly recruited graduate teachers in the North and Eastern Provinces was conducted by Sri Lanka Army, recently.
According to Army media, a total of 1139 graduate teachers attended these residential programmes conducted at five different Army establishments from the 20th - 26th of this month (September).
These programmes were held in response to a request by the Department of Education of the North and Eastern Provinces.
These teachers who have been recruited on district basis from the North and Eastern Provinces underwent training in ‘Improvement of Leadership Qualities’, ‘Social Discipline’, ‘Skill Development’, ‘Mental Development Against Challenges’ and ‘Physical Fitness’, etc during the training programme.
The training programmes were held at the Infantry Training Centre at Minneriya (120), Artillery Training School (215), Regimental Centre, Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment (410), Regimental Centre Gajaba Regiment (259) and at the Armoured Corps Training Centre Kaleththewa (135).
