Kilinochchi civilians treated to foreign cultural extravagance
September 30, 2019Providing the local masses in Kilinochchi a rare treat of enjoying a foreign cultural experience, Sri Lanka Army troops in Kilinochchi facilitated a cultural show presented by the ‘China’s Hubei Traditional Music and Dance' cultural troupe, recently.
According to Army media, about 1000 civilians and Army personnel in Kilinochchi had gathered to enjoy this show held under the patronage of the Embassy of China in Sri Lanka and China's Cultural Center in Sri Lanka.
The show was held at the ‘Nelum Piyasa’ auditorium in Kilinochchi on Friday (27).
Troops had organized the show with the intention to further promote goodwill and understanding between the Army and the civilian community.
The colourful show included Chinese music and dance items, martial art performances, arts and photography exhibitions specific to the Hubei Province of China.
Commander, Security Forces Kilinochchi, Major General G.V Ravipriya, District Secretary for Mullaittivu, Ms. R. Ketheeswaran and senior military officers were also present at the occasion.
