Navy brings ashore injured fisherman
June 14, 2019An injured fisherman was brought ashore by the Sri Lanka Navy, today (14 June). According to Navy media, a fast attack craft had been sent to render assistance to the fisherman after being alerted of the requirement by the Department of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources.
The fisherman had left for fishing aboard the multiday fishing vessel 'Janith Putha 02' from the Negombo fisheries harbour, last week (08). Naval personnel had transferred the patient to their craft in seas about 33 nautical miles off the Galle Lighthouse and had rushed ashore to the Galle harbor. Later the patient was sent to the Karapitiya Teaching Hospital for further treatment.
