Army donates for the welfare of children on World Children’s Day
October 02, 2019Contributing their share to the welfare of children, the Sri Lanka Army, on World Children’s Day (01 October) made a considerable donation towards the Presidential Secretariat’s ‘National Trust Fund for Protection of Destitute Children’.
A cheque to the amount of Rs. 10 million was presented to President Maithripala Sirisena by the Army Director General Staff, Major General Rohitha Dharmasiri on behalf of the Commander of the Army Lieutenant General Shavendra Silva at the Presidential Secretariat, yesterday (01 October).
The fund is intended for the benefit of destitute children and youngsters with special skills.
