Army anniversary Hindu blessing ceremony held
October 03, 2019A Hindu religious ceremony was held at the Sri Ponnambalawaneswaram Kovil, in Colombo 13 in view of the Sri Lanka Army’s 70th anniversary. The ceremony, organized by the Sri Lanka Army Hindu Association at the temple, yesterday (02) was held to invoke blessings on the Army and the Army flags.
According to Army media, the religious rituals were performed by the Chief Kurukkal (Priest), Rev Siva Sri Sureshwara.
Commander of the Army, Lieutenant General Shavendra Silva, Army Chief of Staff, Major General Sathyapriya Liyanage, senior officers and other rank personnel were also present at the occasion.
The Sri Lanka Army will celebrate its 70th anniversary on 10th October (2019).
