Islamic religious ceremony held in view of 70th Army Day celebrations

An Islamic religious ceremony was held at the Colpetty Jummah Masjidh in Colombo 03 in view of Sri Lanka Army’s 70th anniversary celebration, on Thursday (03). The ceremony, organized by the Army Muslim Association was conducted by Imaam of the mosque, Moulavi, Salaman Izadeen.

Special prayers and sermons were conducted during the ceremony by the masjidh’s religious dignitaries in keeping with Islamic traditions.

Commander of the Army, Lieutenant General Shavendra Silva, Army Chief of Staff, Major General Sathyapriya Liyanage, senior officers and other rank personnel were also present at the occasion.

This Islamic blessing ceremony is the fourth in the series of religious events conducted in view of the upcoming 70th Army Day anniversary on 10th October (2019).
