October 24, 2019As a part of its commitment to fulfilling community welfare initiatives, the Sri Lanka Navy rendered assistance to construct two pre-schools in the Northern peninsula. Accordingly, the two buildings built in the Mandathivu and Punkuduthivu islands were vested for public use, recently.
According to Navy media, the newly constructed preschool on the Mandathivu island was declared open by the Assistant Divisional Secretariat of Mandathivu, Mr. S Rajeev on Tuesday (22nd October) while the other newly constructed preschool with the labour provided by Navy at Punkuduthivu island was declared open by the Assistant Divisional Secretary of Velanai, Mr S Rajeevan on the same day.
This community service initiative by the Navy has come under praise from the general public of the islands who have much benefitted from these facilities. These buildings have been built under the Navy’s contribution towards the national reconciliation programme, under its social responsibility project.
