Navy plants trees in the North
October 26, 2019Sri Lanka Navy troops in the Northern Peninsula carried out a tree planting campaign, recently.
According to Navy media, the programme was carried out under the Navy's 'Neela Haritha Sangramaya', green project.
Plants of economic value including, Jak, Mango and Talisay were planted at SLNS Uththara premises in the Northern Naval Command under the programme on Friday (25).
The occasion was attended by Commander, Northern Naval Area, Rear Admiral Kapila Samaraweera. Senior naval officers and other rank personnel were also present at the occasion.
