Ministry of Defence (MoD) Annual Inter Department Cricket Tournament 2019
October 27, 2019Secretary to the Ministry of Defence, General (Retd) SHS Kottegoda WWV RWP RSP VSV USP ndc graced the MOD Annual Inter department Cricket Tournament 2019, held at the Air Force ground in Colombo, today (26).
The Secretary was accompanied by the Chairperson of the Seva Vanitha Unit of the Ministry, Mrs. Sonia Kottegoda.
Commander of the Air Force Air Marshal Sumangala Dias was also present at the occasion.
Before the commencement of the matches a moment of silence was observed in memory of the War Heroes.
A total of 11 teams took part in the matches. After a day of exciting cricket the Technical Branch and the Accounts Branch teams reached the finals.
Proving its superiority on the field, the Technical Branch team won the championship trophy beating their worthy opponents.
Trophies were presented to the winners and outstanding players by the Additional Secretary (Administration) WA Kulasuriya, Military Liaison Officer, Brigadier TJ Kodituwakku, acting Additional Secretary Mrs. Nilanthi Premachandra and the Deputy Military Liaison Officer, Brigadier Ajith Dissanayake.
