Police lifesaving point established at Kantale tank

A lifeguard point, established at the Kantale tank by the Sri Lanka Police was declared open, recently.

According to Police media, the lifeguard point was opened on the 22nd (October) by the Superintendent of Police, Kantale Division, Mahinda Dissanayake.

The lifeguard point had been built with support from Mobitel under the guidance of Police Environment, Naval and Disaster Management Division Deputy Inspector General HH Chulasiri.

The Kantale tank is a popular tourist attraction and a large number of both local and foreign visitors arrive here on a daily basis. Many of these visitors venture into the water to have baths.

The lifesaving point, established with the intention to prevent drowning and water related incidents is manned by qualified police lifesaving personnel.
