Police launch special programme to prevent road accidents in Kilinochchi
December 11, 2019A special programme to mark luminous sticker on bicycles and tractors to make them more visible at night was carried out by the Sri Lanka Police in Kilinochchi on Tuesday (10 December). According to the Police, this measure has been taken as a precautionary measure to reduce road accidents.
This program was held with the objective of preventing road accidents in the Kilinochchi region which has seen a rise in recent times. Bicycles are a popular mode of transport and tractors are widely used for agricultural activities in Kilinochchi. These luminous stickers will enable the motorists to identify bicycles and tractors at night and avoid accidents.
The progarmme was held under the patronage of Superintendent of Police of Kilinochchi Division, Jayantha Ratnayake with the support of MAS Intimates (Pvt) Ltd.
