Sinhala- English Dictionary presented to Defence Secretary
February 12, 2020The Sinhala- English Dictionary compiled by Buddhadasa Hewage was presented to Defence Secretary Maj.Gen. (Retd) Kamal Gunaratne during a function held at the Ministry today (12).
Buddhadasa Hewage also presented several other books authored by him to Maj.Gen. Gunaratne during the occasion. The books include ‘The Victims’, ‘The Shadows of Life’ and ‘Sulang Horawa’.
The 2500-page dictionary contains 100,000 Sinhala words with one hundred and fifty thousand English definitions. Buddhadasa Hewage is a prominent author who has been presented with the ‘Kalakeerthi’ and ‘Kalabhooshana’ awards.
Reciprocating the author’s gesture Maj.Gen. Gunaratne also presented ‘Kadol Aththu’, and ‘Uththara Devi’, two books written by him to the author.
